Some homes carry stories that can be felt the moment you walk through the door.

The staging project at 1060 Oakmont Court in Napa was one of those homes.

This project reminded us why home staging is about more than preparing a property for the market. It is about honoring the past while helping a home transition into its next chapter.

How This Napa Staging Project Began

A Sacramento based realtor reached out to Poppy Home after being referred by a colleague who knew our work and trusted our approach. Even though she was listing a home in Napa, she wanted a staging partner who understood the local market and could bring a thoughtful, design driven perspective to the property.

We met at the home to walk through the space together and talk through the listing strategy.

A Home Filled With History and Care

During our walkthrough, we learned that the home had not been on the market in a very long time. The owner had passed away, and the family was ready for new owners to love the home just as deeply as their family had.

The care that had gone into this home over the years was immediately apparent. The property had been immaculately maintained, and every room reflected pride of ownership. Our goal was to enhance what was already there, not overpower it.

A Strategic Approach to Staging

To support the family and keep costs manageable, the realtor generously chose to pay for the staging services on behalf of the client. Together, we discussed a strategic staging plan that focused on the most important rooms to stage according to real estate statistics.

We staged:

  • The living room

  • The dining room

  • The family room

  • The kitchen

  • The primary bedroom

By focusing on these high impact spaces, we were able to create strong first impressions, guide buyers through the home visually, and help them emotionally connect with the property without staging every room.

Highlighting What Matters Most to Buyers

Our staging design was intentionally warm, approachable, and respectful of the home’s character. We wanted buyers to feel welcomed and to easily imagine building their own memories within the space.

The furniture placement and styling helped define each room, showcased the home’s layout, and allowed the home’s natural condition and care to shine through.

This type of partial staging is especially effective for homes like 1060 Oakmont Court, where the bones are strong, the upkeep is evident, and the story of the home deserves to be told thoughtfully.

Why Strategic Staging Works in Napa
